iPhone Continues to Display ResComp Registration Page

  • Ensure iPhone is correctly registered on ResComp (http://netreg.stanford.edu). If you are unable to register using your iPhone, use another device to register it. You can find the hardware address of your iPhone by going to Settings > General > About and using the number listed beside "Wi-Fi Address"
  • Reconnect: Tap Settings, then Wi-Fi. Tap the blue (i) next to Stanford or Stanford Residences. Tap Forget this Network, then confirm. If necessary, tap the back arrow to return to the list of Wi-Fi networks. Reconnect to the Stanford or Stanford Residences network by tapping its name.
  • Restart: Press and hold the sleep/wake button on the top of the iPhone for 10-15 seconds until the power off confirmation appears. Power off the phone, and then turn it back on by pressing a button.
  • In Wi-Fi settings, tap Other… and manually enter the wireless network name.

iPhone is Unresponsive or "Crashed"

  • Force quit: Press and hold the home button for 10-15 seconds to return to the home screen.
  • Reset: Press and hold the home button and the top sleep/wake button for 10-15 seconds.

iPhone Applications Frequently Quit (Home Screen Unexpectedly Reappears)

  • Restart: Press and hold the sleep/wake button on the top of the iPhone for 10-15 seconds until the power off confirmation appears. Power off the phone, and then turn it back on by pressing a button.
  • Restore: Use iTunes to restore the iPhone. Do this only if you have a backup!
