You must register your ChromeOS device (Chromebook, Chromebox, etc.)'s hardware address before it can communicate over the Stanford network. Note that most consoles with wireless capabilities will have TWO hardware addresses, one for the wired connection, and one for the wireless connection.
To find your hardware ethernet or wireless address on a ChromeOS device:
- Click on the Network and Settings window on your tray (where it shows the time, battery, avatar, etc.).
- Click on the WiFi section to see network details.
- There will be an “i” button in the bottom-right corner, click on it and your MAC/Wi-Fi and IP addresses will be displayed.
