When registering a device and you receive the error below, this usually means that you started to register the device on the "Stanford" network and are trying to complete the process on the "Stanford Residences" network, or vice versa. The quickest way to resolve this is to contact us and ask us to "delete the NetDB node" of the device. You'll need to provide us with the hardware address of the device, which you can find by following the instructions at "Finding your hardware address" and choosing the corresponding device.
Once we confirm that the node has been deleted, you can restart the registration process.
