While Student Technology is committed to providing as much support possible to our Stanford students even while off-campus, it is increasingly difficult for us to provide direct support for your own home (i.e. off-campus) wireless connections.
We strongly recommend students attempt a few troubleshooting steps prior to reaching out to us *or* their home internet service provider. Doing an online search for "troubleshoot wifi xyz" where "xyz" is the brand of your wireless router should get you in a good place for your specific wifi equipment.
While you can Submit a Request to us and we can advise you based on best practices, most of our insight comes directly from the Stanford University IT website's Common Fixes for Home Networking Issues at https://uit.stanford.edu/guide/telecommuting/bandwidth and this recent PCMag.com article at: https://www.pcmag.com/news/12-tips-to-troubleshoot-your-internet-connection.
