The top-left port is activated by default. This is where you should plug in your Ethernet cord for wired access. Top-right port may be activated upon request. |
Above is a Cisco unit cabled into an orange port. The Cisco unit typically provides network service. If there is a Cisco unit AND orange ports, use the ports on the Cisco unit. |

If there is a Cisco unit present in the room, the three ports to the right may be used. Lights will not activate on the Cisco unit. |
If there is a Cisco unit present in the room, all four ports may be used. Lights will not activate on the Cisco unit. |
The Peer Technology Specialist (PTS) team can:
- Verify port connectivity, after a basic troubleshooting report is submitted (see section below for more information).
- Connect additional ports upon request.
PTS cannot:
- Verify port connectivity in non-residential buildings.
- Verify that ports are working without a basic troubleshooting report.

Submitting a request to PTS for assistance:
Information to collect
- Verify that device appears in list of registered devices at http://iprequest.stanford.edu/ (Please refer to Section 3 for additional information)
- Submit the MAC address for wired ethernet adapter (Mac / PC) of affected device
- Submit the Stanford email address of affected user
- Submit the TSO port number OR label on Cisco unit (a picture is great!)
- Submit the results of port check (from above, item d.)
